Dr. Kyalo Muli, the Anzauni Clan patron and leader of National Liberal party expressed optimism that the case will be resolved soon. Speaking at a significant gathering of Ukambani leaders and professionals at Maanzoni Lodge on January 10, 2025, he addressed the importance of focusing on regional development while awaiting the case’s resolution.
The event, convened by Dr. Alfred Mutua, the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader, brought together over 2,000 leaders, professionals, clergy, and stakeholders from across the Lower Eastern region. The assembly aimed to strategize on the region’s economic growth and development.
During the meeting, key development priorities for Ukambani were highlighted, including infrastructure development, access to clean water, quality education, electrification, affordable housing, and advancements across all critical sectors. These issues were identified as vital for uplifting the region and ensuring progress.
The leaders also announced plans for a follow-up event, “Maanzoni 2,” to deepen engagement with the community. The initiative aims to bring leaders closer to the people, listen to their views, and build a united front for addressing the region’s challenges.
While the IEBC case remains a matter of national interest, the leaders emphasized that their focus is on addressing pressing development issues and fostering unity in Ukambani.
