The Anzauni Clan National Patron, Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, has expressed concerns over the Kamba community’s lack of development support from the Kenyan government. Speaking during a year-end gathering at his home in Misuuni Village, Kitui County, on December 28, 2024, Dr. Muli attributed the community’s underdevelopment to their political alignment with the opposition.

He emphasized that for the Kamba people to enjoy government support and benefits, they must actively participate in and align themselves with the ruling government. “We can’t get development when we are outside the government,” he remarked, addressing hundreds of Anzauni Clan members.

Dr. Muli, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Kyalo Muli Foundation, lamented the exclusion of Kitui County from key national government appointments. Highlighting the absence of a cabinet secretary from Kitui in the current administration, he argued that such marginalization hinders the county’s development prospects. “Kitui has no cabinet secretary.

This is unacceptable,” he said, urging the community to reflect on their political strategy to ensure better representation and development outcomes. Dr. Muli’s call resonated with the audience as he stressed the need for a unified approach to engage with the government effectively.

As the official spokesperson for the Anzauni Clan, Dr. Muli called for peace, unity, and collaboration within the clan. He emphasized the importance of living harmoniously and working together for collective progress. “Our work as a clan is to work as a team and live in harmony,” he said. Dr. Muli also announced his formal appointment as the clan’s national spokesperson, a role he pledged to fulfill with humility and dedication. He urged clan members to support the government, reiterating its role in serving the people and fostering development.

The event, which brought together several community leaders, underscored the importance of unity and political engagement for the Kamba community. The Anzauni Clan’s National Organizing Secretary, David Mwoni, and Treasurer, Kakusu Musyoka, also addressed the gathering, echoing Dr. Muli’s sentiments. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Kitui County Coordinator, Moses Banda, emphasized the need for collaboration between the Kamba community and the government to ensure equitable development. The gathering served as a platform to chart a new course for the Anzauni Clan and the larger Kamba community in their quest for inclusion and progress.
