The National Liberal Party (NLP) continues to expand its political footprint across Ukambani, with the latest milestone being the opening of a new party office in Muangeni, Kitui South. The grand opening held on 19th Thursday, June 2025 drew a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, local leaders, and youth eager to align themselves with the fast-rising party that is changing the political narrative of the region. The event marked a new chapter in NLP’s grassroots mobilization strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking exclusively with Our Reporter, Dr. Kyalo Muli emphasized that the Muangeni office will serve as a nerve center for party operations in Kitui South, facilitating membership registration, civic education, and community engagement. He noted that the region has long suffered under poor leadership and political neglect, but with NLP gaining momentum, the people finally have a vehicle to champion their issues from the ward level to the national stage. “We are not here to play politics as usual. We are here to build a movement of change, empowerment, and real representation,” Muli said.
The launch of the Muangeni office is part of NLP’s broader strategy to decentralize its presence and ensure every corner of Ukambani feels the impact of the party’s agenda. Residents in attendance expressed optimism, saying that for the first time, they see a leader who listens and a party that speaks their language. Many aspirants eyeing MCA, MP, and even gubernatorial seats have begun aligning themselves with NLP, which is increasingly viewed as the most viable platform for electoral success in 2027.
Dr. Muli reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Ukambani does not remain a political spectator in national affairs. He said the days of being used as voting machines for other regions were over and called on locals to register with NLP in large numbers. With growing popularity and strategic leadership, the NLP is poised not only to field the highest number of MCAs in Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni but to become the dominant party in Ukambani. The Muangeni office, he added, is just the beginning of a wider plan to establish NLP offices in every ward in the region.
