Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti hosted Central Bank of Kenya(CBK) senior managers, Leonard Laipsonai and Sophie Langat at his office for a courtesy call on Monday 13th February 2023.
The CBK officials presented a memorabilia booklet which holds specimen bank notes of the new currency issued in 2019.
Specimen currency is printed bearing the exact same attributes and security features as circulating currency to aid in the recognition of banknotes. It is also printed to partner central banks and commercial enterprises and the public to familiarize users with the new currency designs.
CBK prepared a limited number of memorabilia booklets holding specimen banknote to be issued as gifts to the counties to honor and recognize the key role they play in social-economic development of the country.
