On Wednesday 26th April 2023, Safaricom PLC partnered with Makueni county to launch MyMakueni App that will aid the government in achieving its mandates. Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa confirmed that the application will ease access to government services and enable faster payments.
Makueni governor Mutula Kilonzo welcomed the move, saying his administration is grateful for inaugurating the service, which will extend to other counties.
“Today is about transforming lives. Success comes from being close to our customers and how we conduct our business. We have a role to improve the way our customers live their lives,” said Ndegwa.
Makueni governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior welcomed the move, saying the app will foster transparency and accountability. “For far too long, service delivery to our people has been plagued to inaccessibility. It’s with this realization we forged this partnership with Safaricom to serve the people of Makueni,” said Kilonzo.
The app will help the county also in Land payments and building payments, Revenue collection, add visibility and reconciliation of payments, Support application forms in digitization and automation, Citizen engagement and Help people explore Makueni in the tourism sector.
