Makueni County POSTPONES Sitting After Arrest Of Speaker

The county assembly of Makueni has today postponed its sittings following the arrest of the county speaker, Douglas Mbilu.

The speaker presented himself at Wote police station after being in hiding for sometime.

It is alleged that Mbilu was linked to the demos staged in Makueni that left several dead and scores injured.

Sources have told Hopkin Digital that police had been hunting him down before he presented him at the said police station.

The deputy speaker,who is also Mutito Andei MCA, Francis Mulwa has said that sittings remains postponed untill the Speaker’s whereabouts are known.

It is said that the speaker was not presented in any of Makueni law courts.

The MCAs have vehemently condemned the move stating they do not know which police station he is held at.
