Man End His Life Over Family Wrangles In Kyangwithya West

Police in Kitui are investigating an incident where a 70 year old man allegedly took his own life over domestic wrangle in Kyamuyo location, near Tiva secondary school, Kyangwithya West in Kitui County.

The lifeless body was found hanging in kitchen roof with a rope on his neck in the wee hours of Friday 12th May 2023 morning.

This incident was confirmed by Senior Chief Kyangwithya West, John Wambua who urged members of the public to embrace alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

“A rope had been tied around his neck in his daughter in law’s kitchen, we suspect he hanged himself,” Chief Wambua confirmed.

Kitui central DCI established that the deceased named Metho John Vonza and the body had a head injury behind the scalp and the tongue didn’t protrude outside the mouth.

No arrest made so far and the body of the deceased is currently lying at Kitui Referral Hospital morgue pending for post mortem.
