Aspiring Kitui Central Member of Parliament Crispus Ileli has asked Ukambani church leaders and other religious leaders to pray for the community so that wherever the national cake is being shared, the Kamba community is not left behind.
This is to say that the religious leaders should pray for the community to open up its eyes to the opportunities that lie ahead when working with the government of the day.
Ileli, who worked as a Chief of Staff with Kitui county government made the remarks today during the funeral service for the late teacher Pius Mutia Maithya in Kyangwithya East.
The former Chief of Staff eulogized his former teacher as an accomplished education professional who had impacted the lives of many during his career spanning decades.
“This is a man of great honour. He has remained true to his professional calling until the last day. He has left a lot to be emulated by all”_ Ileli pointed out.Â
Turning to national politics, Ileli said it was reasonable for all Kenyans to embrace president Ruto’s Broad Based Government while at the same time urging the Kamba community to reconsider their stance in opposition politics.
“For how long are we going to be in opposition politics? For what benefit?”_ posed Ileli who has won majority support for his Kitui Central parliamentary bid.
Ileli solidified his community service while working in Makueni County where he headed the Makueni Sand Conservation & Utilization Authority that transformed the sand sector and won accolades from both local and international bodies.
He would later join the Kitui County government as Chief of Staff where he served diligently and easily connected with the county residents until he resigned to pursue other interests.
