Kitui Central member of parliament Hon Benson Makali Mulu joined mourners at Kalawa village in Kyangwithya East at Kitui Central in a burial ceremony of the late Agnes Kaswii Munyithya.
In 2020, Madam Agnes started ailing and had been undergoing treatment ever since then. On 26/12/2023, she was taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital for Review and Doctors decided to admit her for close super-vision. She stayed in the Hospital until the Almighty God promoted her to Glory on 31/12/2023 at 1 1:00 PM. She was 87 years old at the time of her demise.
The late was eulogize as educationist champion in the entire Kyangwithya East ward. She was sister Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi (Emeritus), Anne Syombua, Rebecca Kakui Ndundu.
According to Mp Makali, the late Agnes, left a remarkable legacy, which advocated for equal access to quality education and she is described as the Mother of the education sector in the region.
“We celebrate Mama Agnes, not only as a leader but also a symbol of unity and resilience. Her dedication to our nation’s progress and her unwavering commitment to the development of the education system continue to inspire us all,” he said.
