Over 10,000 needy residents in Kibwezi West are set to benefit from an initiative spearheaded by MP Mwengi Mutuse, aimed at easing access to healthcare services. The legislator will facilitated the registration of vulnerable families in his constituency under the Social Health Authority (SHA) program. This move will enable beneficiaries to receive medical care without financial strain.
Speaking during the burial of the late Benjamin Mutinda Kimithi in Kauwi Ward, Kitui West Constituency, Kitui County, MP Mutuse emphasized the importance of mass registration for the program. He urged residents of the Ukambani region to seize the opportunity and enroll in large numbers to ensure they can access essential medical services without financial hurdles. “I want to urge residents of Ukambani to register in large numbers so that when you go to our hospitals of Level 2 and Level 3, you will be treated for free,” he said.
The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations in the region. By facilitating registration under the SHA, MP Mutuse is not only addressing immediate healthcare needs but also ensuring a sustainable approach to community health. His leadership in healthcare advocacy underscores the critical role of elected leaders in bridging gaps in service delivery and uplifting the living standards of their constituents.
