Different leaders from Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition have come out boldly to give their views after Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe announced that the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would be the coalition’s presidential candidate in the 2027 elections.

Speaking in Malindi on Sunday while attending Raila’s 79th birthday celebrations, Murathe argued that Raila is fit to contest in 2027, and that he will be their flag bearer if he is interested, and if he is not, then the camp will consider other leaders among them Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka and former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

According to Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua, also a close ally to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka argued that Murathe’s opinion had no merit.

Kalonzo will receive a lot of advice and opinion as he prepares for the State House race, some will be solicited and others unsolicited. Every advice given shall be objectively weighed and possibly a feedback will be given. Murathe’s opinion was unsolicited and has been dismissed,” said the Wiper lawmaker.

Senator Wambua told Murathe, Azimio coalition is made up of different political parties, and that it is time they swing in to action and make bold steps towards forming the next government.

“Kalonzo is the best bet to save Kenyans from ‘clueless and incompetent‘ Kenya Kwanza regime”, he added.
