Muema Mwinzi, a 43 year old man from Kamusiliu- area of Ngomeni ward, Mwingi North is pleading with well wishers to help him get medical aid. Muema said he developed a strange illness in 2005 which started with a severe head ache and later made his left side paralysed.
Following acute poverty in his home where he was a peasant farmer and the breadwinner, Muema has remained home and has never gotten any money for treatment.Mwikali Muema, his wife said she was forces to do manual jobs to sustain her family of seven children.
“I earn 200 shillings per day, my children are in school and the money is never enough enough to sustain them let alone my sick husband,” she said.
Muthui Mwinzi, the brother said recently well wishers led by Kaliwa secondary school principal ,Mr Daniel Mwangie contributed some amount where they bought some beddings, food and clothes for the family and got some amount to take him to Mwingi level 4 hospital for check up.
“The doctors said he requires a CT scan then he can start his treatment. They also said they suspect he is ailing from hydrocephalus where they advised the treatment would cost an estimate of Ksh. 500,000,” narrated Muthui.
Peter Kiilu, a neighbor said as the community, they are unable to raise the money this calling on well wishers and leaders to step in and help Muema get some treatment.
