Mwingi West MP Charles Ngusya Nguna joined family, friends, and community members in Mavui village, Kyome Thaana Ward, to bid a final farewell to the late Lucas Muthoka, also known as DK Kitengenezi. The solemn ceremony was a moment of reflection on the life and impact of a young man whose contributions to society were deeply valued. Speaking during the burial, MP Nguna expressed his sorrow over the loss of such a promising individual, emphasizing the pain of losing young people at their prime who played a vital role in the affairs of Mwingi.

Born on November 12, 1986, Kitengenezi was the firstborn in his family, a loving husband to Rosalia Makaa, and a devoted father to Eleanor Mutheu, a Form Two student at Mbitini Girls, as well as Abigail Martha and Lincoln Muthoka. His career journey saw him take on various roles, starting as a butcher and guard manager at Cabanas Hotel Ltd, later working as a cashier at Crystal Bay Beach, and serving as a food agent at the World Food Programme. On October 1, 2023, he secured employment at Kenya Utalii College, where he worked until his untimely demise.

He was remembered as a dedicated and visionary individual who was committed to his work and community. His colleagues and friends described him as goal-oriented, caring, and resilient, with strong work ethics that set him apart. Beyond his profession, he actively engaged in community development programs, striving to make a difference in the lives of those around him. His passion for progress and unity made him a beloved figure in his community.

Among the mourners who paid tribute to Kitengenezi were Hon. Alphonce Mukwayu, MCA Kyome Thaana, former CS Peninah Malonza, Augustus Kyalo Muli, and other leaders. Their presence underscored the significant role he played in society and the deep respect he commanded. His legacy of hard work, determination, and service will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
