New Dawn as Syomisyi – Enzou water project Commissioned

Kitui Deputy Governor HE Wambua Kanani and CMMB Vice President Mr Dick Day officiates the handover of the SMEK water project and Kisayani Maternity Unit in Mutomo/Kibwea and Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, Kitui South Sub-county.

From Nzeeu river, a 3-meter diameter, 6-meter deep samp well with a 22mÂł/hour output purely solarized is functional. Thanks to the partnership between Governor Malombe’s administration and CMMB development partner. The 15.5 kilometer pipeline extension will serve over 4,980 people and has 3 water kiosks along the line terminates at Kisayani Dispensary.

The project dubbed SMEK (Syomisyi, Mesilya, Enzou, Kisayani) is at the centre of Dr Malombe’s 16 sector priority in addressing 3 key sectors of healthcare, water and livestock.

While addressing the citizens, Kitui Deputy Governor HE Wambua Kanani reiterated that the County Government of Kitui under Dr Malombe’s stewardship is keen on embracing development partners to elevate living standards of the people.

Mr Dick Day affirmed CMMB’s continued partnership as they champion more sustainable development projects for bettering humanity.

Other leaders present were the host, Ikanga/Kyatune Ward MCA Hon Cyrus Kisavi (SONKO), Hon David Masaku of Mutomo/Kibwea Ward, Kauwi ward MCA Hon Gabriel Munyao and Mutonguni MCA Hon Ndambu Mulandi.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Water and Irrigation CECM Mr Peter Nkunda, Dr Benson Musyoka, Chief Officer for Medical Supplies, Ag Kitui South Sub County Administrator Ms Ngalai, Water Director Eng Kennedy Mutati among others.
