Nzambani  Member of County Assembly (MCA) Joseph Musyoka Mbite, popularly known as Mamen, has officially announced his intention to defend his seat on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Mamen, who was initially elected as an independent candidate, declared his full allegiance to the ruling party during a UDA function held in Kitui on May 28, 2024. This move marks a strategic alignment with UDA, reflecting the party’s growing influence in kitui County.
The announcement was made at a gathering led by Kitui East MP Hon Nimrod Mbai and attended by Kitui elected MCAs, nominated MCAs, former aspirants on the UDA ticket, and UDA delegates. The event served as a platform to review the party’s past performances and to strategize for future electoral success.
Mamen’s switch to UDA was received with enthusiasm, signaling his commitment to the party’s vision and his readiness to contribute to its grassroots strengthening efforts.
Hon Mamen’s decision to join UDA comes at a crucial time as Kitui County gears up for the UDA grassroots elections scheduled for June 22, 2024. These elections are pivotal for consolidating the party’s support base and ensuring robust organizational structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
By aligning with UDA, Mamen aims to leverage the party’s resources and support to enhance his re-election campaign and address the needs of his constituents more effectively.
This political development underscores UDA’s strategy of expanding its reach and solidifying its presence in key regions across Kenya. Hon Mamen’s integration into the party is expected to bolster UDA’s position in Nzambani ward and potentially influence other independent leaders to follow suit.
As the 2027 elections approach, UDA’s growing network of influential leaders like Mamen is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the political landscape in Kitui County and beyond.
