Over 10,000 youth from the Mwingi region have benefitted from education and entrepreneurship training through the EDUCATE organization. The initiative, aimed at equipping young people with practical skills, has seen many of them gain knowledge in business management, financial literacy, and innovation. Most of the beneficiaries, who previously lacked formal employment or had dropped out of school, say the program has opened up new opportunities for self-reliance and improved livelihoods.

Speaking exclusively after receiving certificates following a month-long training, one of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to EDUCATE, noting that the skills acquired will empower them to start their own businesses. The youth emphasized that the training had given them not only knowledge but also the confidence to venture into income-generating activities. “This program has changed my mindset and given me direction in life. I now believe I can create my own future,” one participant said.

The beneficiaries further encouraged other young people to take advantage of such opportunities. They called on fellow youth to come out in large numbers during the next phase of recruitment by EDUCATE so they can also benefit from the program. Officials from the organization reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the initiative across Ukambani, with a focus on reaching even more underserved and vulnerable youth.
