Former Cabinet Secretary Hon. Penina Malonza has launched a transformative initiative, Faith in Action CBO, under the tagline Kuku Kwa Boma, Utajiri Kwetu, Mashinani Ndipo. As part of the project, over 5,000 chickens were distributed to women. This program, aimed at empowering women across the county, is part of Malonza’s broader mission to foster socio-economic development at the grassroots level.

The poultry distribution marks a significant step towards improving the livelihoods of women in Kitui County. By engaging them in small-scale poultry farming, the initiative seeks to create a sustainable source of income for the participants. Hon. Malonza believes that empowering women economically is essential for uplifting entire communities, as women are often the backbone of households and vital contributors to community well-being.

A tireless advocate for women’s empowerment, Hon. Malonza has long championed initiatives that create opportunities for women to thrive. Her latest project, facilitated through KICUSA, enables women to establish poultry businesses, thereby providing a reliable source of food and income. The focus is on creating a self-sustaining model that strengthens both individual households and the wider community.

The project does more than just distribute chickens—it offers training and support to the women involved, ensuring that they can successfully manage their poultry ventures. Through Faith in Action CBO, Hon. Malonza is equipping women with essential skills and resources, fostering both financial independence and community resilience.

By empowering women to take control of their economic futures, the Faith in Action CBO program is creating ripples of change across Kitui County. Hon. Malonza’s commitment to grassroots development exemplifies her vision of building a prosperous, self-sufficient community where women play a leading role in driving socio-economic progress.
