Tharaka ward in Mwingi North was the only ward in Kitui that warmly embraced President William Ruto’s leadership despite Kitui being an Azimio stronghold.
Not forgetting that former Vice President Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka comes from Mwingi North, this minority community fully supported Ruto in the 2022 general elections.
Muthengi Ndangara, Area MCA disclosed that the community deserves rewards from the president asking him through ASAL CS, Peninah Malonza to consider channeling more developments to the community.
Muthengi spoke while he accompanied the CS in relief food distribution exercise adding the area locals need the food as majority had harvested very little following low amounts of rainfall received in the previous season.
” If there are leaders castigating the relief food distribution exercise, Tharaka ward is not part of it, we need the food more as we received very minimal rainfall during the last rainy season,” said Muthengi.
