The County Assembly’s Committee on Appointment Chaired by the Speaker of Assembly Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya on Wednesday 11th October 2023, commenced the vetting of Persons Nominated for Appointment as Mwingi Municipal Board Members.
The 2-day exercise runs from Wednesday 11th October to 12th October, 2023 and will be taking place in the Assembly Chamber. First to appear before the vetting committee was Alex Nzioka Mwanzia who defended his nomination as a board member of the Mwingi municipality saying the position seeks to streamline service delivery to the County.
If approved, Alex said he will ensure the small-scale traders will have a place to conduct their business since they play a key role in generating revenue to the County. The County Assembly is required to conduct an approval hearing of the nominees to ascertain their suitability for the positions proposed to make appropriate recommendations.
