Vincent Munyoki Foundation Partners With Moran Publishers To Train Teachers on CBC Curriculum

Vincent Munyoki Foundation in partnership with Moran and longhorns publishers on Saturday 16th March 2024, conducted a training programme to teachers across schools sponsored by Catholic Diocese of Kitui in Kitui West County at Kabati Parish.

The aim of  training teachers was to ensure they acquire effective class management skills of moulding the young learners and laying up a strong foundation which is in line with the CBC guidelines.

Victor, a seasoned CBC trainer, stresses the significance of parents enrolling their children in early childhood education, as it serves as the cornerstone for their future development. “This education establishes a sturdy foundation for lifelong learning and fosters heightened cognitive and social abilities essential for growth and success,” he said.

Mutemi Benedetta, a teacher representing a Catholic-sponsored school in Kabati Parish, expressed gratitude for the valuable insights gained from the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) training. Benedetta emphasized the desire for ongoing training and thanked the Vincent Munyoki Foundation for their remarkable support, expressing hope for continued collaboration in the future.

We want to thank the Vincent Foundation for their input. They have done a wonderful job and we will pray that we continue, partnering with them,” she said.

Fr. Julius Muthamba of Kabati Parish called the national government to provide additional trainings to teachers on the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) education. He emphasized the importance of teachers being well-versed in the changes made by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development to ensure they are familiar with the new syllabus.

Francis Koki, speaking on behalf of the Vincent Munyoki Foundation, called on teachers to attend CBC trainings in large numbers to better understand the curriculum. He also emphasized the importance of parents and teachers being role models for  children.
