Kitui County is all set to host its highly anticipated 2024 Agricultural Show at the Ithookwe grounds. According to Dr. Mbaya Kimwele, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture and Livestock, the preparations are 97% complete.
During his recent visit to inspect the readiness of the venue, Dr. Kimwele expressed confidence in their ability to accommodate over 150,000 visitors. The meticulous preparations aim to ensure a successful and enriching event for all attendees.
County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto has assured exhibitors, the business community, and local residents of their safety during the show.
Mr Rutto emphasized the security measures in place, aiming to provide a secure environment for everyone involved. He urged the local community to attend in large numbers, highlighting the opportunity to learn about innovative and smart agricultural techniques that will be showcased at the event.
The three-day agricultural show will commence on Thursday, July 25th, and conclude on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. This year’s event promises to be more engaging and informative, offering a platform for farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in the agricultural sector to network and share knowledge.
The highlight of the event will be on Friday, July 26th, when Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe will officially launch the show, marking a significant occasion for the county.
