Kitui Chief Officer incharge of Drugs and Medical Supplies, Aggrey Kamba has guaranteed Health Products Technologies Unit (HPTU) staff quarterly procurement of drugs and non-pharmaceuticals commodities.
Addressing Sub-County pharmaceutical coordinators, medical laboratories and community nurses drawn from the eight Sub-counties; “the plan for the subsequent financial years is to ensure we place our orders for drugs and non-pharmaceutical commodities quarterly, this will reduce on stock-outs and ensure smooth operations of our facilities.” Kamba said.
The chief officer underscored to the staff the need, to give priority to the essential drugs when placing orders as guided by MOH policy.
Kamba emphasized to the healthcare workers to submit reports frequently, to assist the department to make informed decisions supported by data.Kamba opened a three days meeting for Health Products Technologies Unit (HPTU) progress and stock status review meeting held in Kitui town.
The review meeting is supported by Afya Ugavi (AU) and CIHEB in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.
