EAC, ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Penina Malonza, received a warm welcome in Nzambani Sub County, Kitui County, during a visit to oversee the distribution of relief food aid.

The distribution exercise, which commenced at Kilonzo Chief’s Office, saw jubilant residents gather to express their gratitude and support. The event highlighted the community’s eagerness and appreciation for the much-needed assistance during a challenging period.

At Maluma Chief’s Office, the welcoming atmosphere was electric as residents cheered the arrival of Hon. Malonza and her entourage. The delegation included County Commissioner Kipchumba Ruto, Nzambani MCA Musyoka Mbite, senior Government officials, and local community leaders.

This gathering underscored the collaborative efforts between the national and county governments, aiming to ensure the effective distribution of aid to those in need.

The food distribution exercise continued at several locations, including Kyalele Chief’s Office at Nzangathi Market, Kanduti Chief’s Office, Kenze Chief’s Office, and Ngungi Chief’s Office at Inyuu Market.

Each stop saw similar scenes of gratitude and relief from the residents, who welcomed the assistance with open arms. The involvement of National Government Administration Officers in the distribution process ensured a smooth and orderly exercise, maximizing the reach and impact of the aid.

Thousands of residents benefitted from the distribution of rice and beans, a critical intervention to alleviate food insecurity in the region.
