Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has been arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to answer questions related to graft.
He was arrested alongside his two wives after raid in his Nairobi and Kakamega rural homes. They trio were arrested over corruption and economic crimes committed during his tenure as Kakamega Governor.
A recent report released by the EACC indicated that there was a planned prosecution of high-profile people in former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime who heavily plundered public money to the last coin.
Also Kakamega governor Fernandes Baraza , former Kisii deputy governor joash Maangi, former Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki, Ferdinand Waititu (Kiambu) , former national museums of Kenya director general mzalendo kibunja and former national housing corporation managing director James wagema ruitha headline the long list.
In Kitui Ms Ngilu allegedly hired three people and unlawfully appointed them to her Manifesto Implementation Unit MIU during the 2017/2018 financial year. The hiring was done by the KITUI County Public Service Board allegedly under her instructions.
