The 8th edition of the Nganga Cup has progressed to the quarter-final stage, with eight teams emerging from the initial 31 boys’ teams that took part in the tournament. The remaining sides will now battle for the ultimate prize as competition intensifies toward the business end of the championship.

The boys’ teams that have qualified for the quarter-finals include Malili, Usiani, Mutula, Mukuku, Katisaa, Nzaaya, and Miambani. Tournament officials are yet to confirm the final team to complete the last eight following chaos that erupted during group-stage matches in Kamandio, prompting the coordination committee to review the incident before making a final decision.

In the girls’ category, the Nganga Cup has also reached a decisive phase, with the tournament now at the semi-final stage. Four teams remain in contention for the title after strong performances in the preliminary rounds. These teams are Mutula, Kiviu, King’oino, and Kamandio.

Organizers have hailed the tournament for promoting youth engagement and sportsmanship across Miambani Ward. With the quarter-finals and semi-finals lined up, excitement continues to build ahead of the grand finale scheduled on 27th this month.
