Kitui County Director for Environment Dominic Mumbu was today elected as the National Chairperson of the Caucus of Directors in charge of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources Management from the 47 counties. Director Mumbu was elected in a virtual meeting which was coordinated by the Council of Governors Secretariat, with Mr. Brian Muthoka and Ms. Veronica Manyora as the presiding officers. The caucus coordinates activities revolving around climate action, water and waste management, forestry and environmental conservation and minerals resources in the 47 devolved units.

Mr. Mumbu’s counterpart for Narok County Liaram Molai was elected as his Deputy while that of Embu County Mercy Mongo elected as the Secretary of the coterie.The trio will lead their fellow County Directors in providing technical advice to their Chief Officers and County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) towards implementation of their respective Governor’s manifesto.
