Former Kitui Governor Hon. Charity Ngilu has visited Thangilani Village in Musenge Location, Mutha Ward, Kitui South Constituency, to stand in solidarity with residents affected by a recent attack by suspected camel herders. The incident, which happened a few weeks ago, left over 100 families in turmoil after their homes and food granaries were torched and camels unleashed to destroy their farms.

During her visit, Ngilu extended both moral and material support to the victims, donating exercise books, pens, pencils, iron sheets, and clothes. She assured the residents that she would continue rallying resources to help them rebuild their lives, while also urging authorities to provide lasting solutions to insecurity in Mutha, which has left many families vulnerable.

Later in the day, Ngilu addressed a rally at Mutha town where she received a rousing welcome from locals. Residents expressed gratitude for her intervention and praised her for consistently standing with the community during difficult times. The gathering turned into a show of political strength as large crowds pledged their loyalty and support to her leadership.

In her remarks, Ngilu strongly hinted at making a political comeback in 2027, declaring that Kitui needs bold and experienced leadership to steer development and safeguard communities. “I have done it before, and I will not shy away from doing it again,” she told the cheering crowd, setting the stage for what promises to be a heated gubernatorial race.
