Impostor Nzioka Waita Must Be Rejected Again in 2027

423

Machakos deserves authentic leadership, not impostors and Nzioka Waita should be rejected in 2027 just as firmly as he was in 2022. His desperate attempt to impose himself on Machakos politics was nothing short of an insult to the people’s intelligence. Born and rooted in Makueni, Waita has no genuine claim to Machakos leadership, yet he strutted into the county as though credentials from Nairobi boardrooms could automatically translate into grassroots acceptance. Machakos people have always demanded leaders who understand their history, their challenges, and their aspirations not outsiders seeking political relevance.

Waita’s candidacy exposed his biggest weakness, total detachment from the realities of ordinary Machakos residents. His speeches, laced with polished English and corporate jargon, showed he was addressing TV cameras instead of the people. While genuine leaders connected with voters in marketplaces, churches, and villages, Waita looked like a stranger aloof, disconnected, and clueless about the real needs of farmers, traders, and jobless youth. His elitist posture only widened the gap between him and the wananchi he hoped to lead.

Character alone disqualifies him further. For years, he thrived under the shadows of power in Nairobi, serving at State House without ever proving himself in elective politics. His reliance on PR and political patronage revealed a man more comfortable in offices of privilege than in the field with ordinary people. To Machakos voters, he appeared not as a servant-leader but as a polished impostor banking on image rather than substance. In a county that values humility, resilience, and lived experience, Waita never stood a chance.

The verdict from 2022 was clear and must be repeated in 2027: Machakos has no space for impostors. The people want leaders born of their soil, molded by their struggles, and committed to their progress not outsiders parachuted in for political experiments. Nzioka Waita’s defeat was a lesson in 2022, and it must remain the guiding principle for 2027. Machakos will always choose authentic, homegrown leadership over pretenders.
